Attracting Abundance

Previously I talked about how those of us involved in an MLM to make some more money — well really to do the things that money will allow — can have a fear of money and I gave some things to think about to help you get past your chrematophobia.  Today I want to discuss a little about how to attract abundance to you.

The Law of Attraction is quite simple:

What you focus on, expands.

So if you dwell on the negative thats what you will attract.  For example if you are constantly worried about where the money is coming from to pay the bills that are already here and you’re thinking “I don’t have the money to pay my bills” you’ll soon find that there is no money to pay them and the more you think about it, the worse it gets.

If instead, you focus on what you want as though it already exists and think and say “I am grateful for the abundance of cash that I have” then, because what you focus on and think about expands and becomes reality, you will have that abundance.

So now you’re thinking “I’ve heard of this Law of Attraction stuff before and its never worked for me no matter how hard I concentrated on what I wanted.”  And if you are thinking that, don’t worry, I did too until I realized a few key things about why my desires weren’t manifesting… yet:

  1. The timing is not ideal – if you’re asking for a mountain in the time for a molehill it isn’t going to happen.  Further your desires may be linked to other people doing things in which case it won’t happen until everyone is aligned.  I know it may feel like things aren’t happening fast enough but give the universe time to line it all up and it will — right when you really need it to.
  2. You’re trying too hard – have you every heard the saying “Let go and let God”?  Well whether or not you believe in a divine presence you have to remember the universe is lining things up so give in to it.
  3. You’re being too needy – I can’t say this any better than what Joe Vitale discovered:

What’s the secret to getting what you want?
    Not needing it.
When you would welcome it but you don’t need it, you begin to attract it.
It all begins by being happy right now.
And you don’t need anything to be happy right now.

    – Joe Vitale

  4. You are being too serious – don’t take anything too seriously.  The same wind, both good and ill, blows across all of us or as the Jewish folklore states “This too shall pass”.   Be at ease and playful and choose to feel good.
  5. You are not open to greater possibilities of happiness – not everything we ask for, if we got it, would actually bring us good or happiness in the long run.  So instead of being specific you could say “I am grateful for the abundance of cash, or something better, that I have”.  Let the universe know you’re ready for the best possible outcome for you.

Simply put, while you need to think “right” you also need to choose to be happy and thankful for everything you have.  Do you remember as kids wanting that shiny new bicycle that someone else got for their birthday and your parents telling you that while you can’t have the bike you have so much more to be thankful for?  Well as kids we rarely understood… as adults we need to take it to heart and remember that to the universe, we’re kids!

Essentially Free MLM Leads

Now I know better than to suggest anything is free because we all know (or should) that anything that sounds to good to be true… is.

In a previous article I talked briefly about the concept of an MLM Funded Proposal as a way to build a never-ending stream of leads.  Now I would like to go into a little bit more detail on the importance of this process and why you should consider it.

If you’ve been in multi-level marketing for awhile you know that your largest expense is advertising and the longer you’re in the business (and the faster you want to build) the larger that expense becomes.  The reason for this should be obvious to those who have been in the business for awhile but for those of you who are new-comers, not everyone you present to, no matter how good you become at building effective relationships, will want to join your business.  Why?  Some are already in another business, some don’t want to put the effort into anything, and some we’ll never know why.

So how do you offset this expense?  Well there is sales of your product but again this requires advertising in some form as well and if you’re new, you don’t have the money… after all one of the reasons you got started in the business was to have money to do the things you want to do.  Most of those in network marketing struggle because they don’t have enough money to properly build an effective multi-level marketing organization.  You need a way to have up-front money to cover your advertising and thats where the funded proposal comes into play.  So this is a technique that both the new as well as the seasoned multi-level marketer can use.

A funded proposal works in two (2) ways:

  1. You can sell something like an e-book or a marketing system to people that are looking that generates money off of the initial sale.  There are many well planned out marketing systems out there.  Alternatively, if you are looking for product consumers rather than business builders, you can refer people to things of value to them in resolving issues that your product(s) help resolve.  In the process of doing this, you are helping those people out, and when they subscribe to what you are referring them to, you earn a commission off of that.
  2. It provides you a stream of leads that you can present your product or your business to (depending on what type of funded proposal you put out).  I would suggest that if your funded proposal is material related to building a business that you present your business to the leads coming from it.  On the other hand if your funded proposal is providing people information on products similar to yours and the benefits of your product in resolving their problems then you want to only present products to the leads coming from it.

But there are tools you will need to have in place for any funded proposal to work:

  • People need to know that your proposal is available
  • You need to follow up with anyone that inquires about your proposal
  • You must deliver the product you offered in the proposal
  • The product should do or contain exactly what you said it would

Never offer as a funded proposal anything that you yourself have not researched, used, and derived benefit from.

How do you let people know about your proposal?  Well you have to advertise and yes it may cost you some money so you need to make sure that the advertising works and results in you having sufficient people buying the proposal to cover any advertising costs plus leave money over to pay for any other advertising that you do.  After all the intent was to pay for all of your advertising.

You need to have some form of autoresponder that kicks in the moment someone signs up.  For instance if you signed up to receive updates from this blog you would have been sent a welcome email personalized to you.  As much as I would like to, I don’t have time to personally welcome each person but my autoresponder does it for me.  When dealing with a funded proposal people will sign up to learn more and your autoresponder emails will trickle out to them a day or more apart, in order, to give them more details so that they purchase the product (or at the very least hear more from you and allow you to present your multi-level marketing business or product to them).

And never fail to deliver what you promised.  This is key, this is a relationship-killer if you fail to follow-through.  So always make sure that if you are using some information product developed by someone else that it is a product that is guaranteed to be delivered (and guaranteed to pay you when someone orders it).

Are prospects chasing you or Are you chasing them?

One of the things I heard when I got started in network marketing years ago was the “3 foot rule” (although I think some people used an 8 foot rule!).  Essentially if someone came within 3 feet of you, they were a prospect.  In truth they were at best a suspect and at worst yet another stranger you were likely to earn the ire of or scare off.

Lets face it in a traditional business people don’t go out trying to drum up business from those who have no interest.  Does the grocer come knock at your door? Well unless you’re getting home delivery service (a real time-saver I must admit), the grocer is not marketing to you.  In fact, I know that when I do go to the store I have to hunt for someone who work there to figure out where they’ve moved my favorite brand of pickles.  And what about the car salesman?  When was the last time you were going past a lot and someone ran out of it and tried to sell you a car? Never you say? So why would anyone expect to find someone willing to join a business by doing this?  And who would want to join except perhaps those willing to go out and acost perfect (and not so perfect) strangers.

Ok so you didn’t use the 3 foot rule but maybe you left a paper trail.  Another thing I heard when I started was that if you’re really in network marketing could you be convicted of it.  In other words have you left a paper trail of business cards, pamphlets, flyers wherever you go.  If you went to the doctor or dentist office, did you leave your brochure mixed in with the all the magazines littering the tables.  Perhaps you were braver and had more time and you put business card flyers on every car always looking out for the ever present mall security.

Don’t get me wrong, these approaches will pay off… eventually but are you attracting the people you want in your business… and how long will it take?  Yes I know I’ve written previously that you do have to work to build your business but I would suggest you want to work smarter not harder.

In reality if you’re leaving flyers on cars, you need to be putting out close to 2000 a day, yes I said two thousand and if you really want to build that should be closer to four or five thousand per day.  The same goes for pamphlets.  If you are approaching anyone that comes within three feet of you I would suggest preparing yourself for a lot of NOs some of which will not likely be that polite.  On top of which you’re going to need to talk to at least twenty to thirty new people every day.

Now if you were like me when I first got started I didn’t have the time for flyering cars and I know I didn’t have the confidence to walk up to perfect strangers but I did know people who were doing these things and were able to be successful in the process.   I also know that those who were doing flyers had no time for anything else and those who were talking to strangers said there were some stores they were not allowed to frequent.

I would suggest to you that you want people to come to you not the other way around.  You want to attract people to you, your products, and your business.  One thing I did hear when I first started was “your worth in the marketplace is determined by what you bring to it”.   This statement set me on a path of learning and understanding the difference between marketing and selling.  With marketing you present advice, and knowledge and you concentrate on building relationships with people and you don’t think about the sale.  What happens when you do this is that people are attracted to you.  Why?  Because you listen and because you offer solutions for their frustrations and then they come to you.

Now here’s the best part, when they come to you, they want what you have to offer.  No more tire kickers or lookie-loos.  They have a genuine desire and you have more time for your family and no one is scared off when they see you coming.

If you haven’t started attracting people to your business then you need to start now.  If you don’t know where to get started I suggest you check out my link for your free MLM videos which gives you in seven videos the start to attracting prospects to you.  Stop the chasing and start working smarter instead of harder!
